The word “Mara” comes from the Proto-Indo-European root *mer meaning to die, and so it is related to the European Mara, the Slavic Marzanna and the Latvian Māra. Mara in Latvian mythology means — The Mother of Earth and has positive meaning. She is wise and generous.
Mike Adams and Robert Scott Bell discuss the Youtube censorship of a previous video discussing the corporate ownership of human genes.
Currently, 20% of your DNA is owned by corporations and universities. The US government claims it controls 100% of all your genes and can assign ownership of them to any corporation that files a patent.
Discussion of this issue is being censored on Youtube and across the mainstream media. This is information the system does not want you to know about.
This dramatic video from Cotati, California shows a homeowner being assaulted, tazed, and unlawfully detained by police after he refused to allow them to enter his home without a warrant or probable cause.
The officers claimed that they had arrived at the home to investigate a “domestic violence” complaint. The homeowner pointed out that although he and his wife had just had an argument, no violence had taken place.
He invoked his Fourth Amendment right against a warrantless search and explained to one of the officers, “we don’t live in a police state, sir. Martial law has not been established in this country.” That response apparently provoked the assault by the police officers.
Since the exposure of tortures in Masanjia Forced
Labor Camp in Shenyang, Liaoning Province,
black jails all over China have caused public concern.
On May 13, many Chinese human rights lawyers
went to Ziyang, Chengdu, Sichuan
to investigate the brainwashing ghulag abducting
a large number of Falun Gong practitioners.
But they were beaten by plainclothes police and
detained in custody at the police station.
Let’s see more from our station reporter.
Beijing human rights lawyer Jiang Tianyong said that,
in recent days, some lawyers have been handling cases
in Chengdu, Sichuan, and some were in meetings here.
They heard there were several brainwashing centers
nearby filled with abducted Falun Gong practitioners,
and a major one is called Ere Lake brainwashing
ghulag in Ziyang.
Beijing human rights lawyer Jiang Tianyong:
“We know it had imprisoned up to nearly 270 people.
I checked online. It is very evil. Some were tortured
to death or disabled.
From a legal point of view, this is an illegal detention,
a collective crime, so we went to investigate.
We hope they release the practitioners.
If not, we will go to appeal.”
Jiang Tianyong said, Ere Lake brainwashing center in Ziyang
had a notice written outside: “Ziyang Legal Education Center”.
People abducted and held there do not go through any legal
procedures, but were tortured to renounce their faith.
Jiang Tianyong said that the brainwashing center is illegal.
Jiang Tianyong said, “As we learned, Falun Gong
practitioners did not receive any due process.
but were sent there directly there after being abducted.
They are forced to get brainwashed, write statements
(to denounce Falun Gong) then they can be released.
Otherwise, they will continue to be detained. Some were
even detained for five to six years. This is very evil.”
Why are Falun Gong practitioners sent to brainwashing
ghulags, rather than prisons and labor camps?
Jiang Tianyong said if they wanted to detain practitioners
in prison, it had to go through trials and defense by lawyers.
Jiang Tianyong said,”As for the 610 office, trials are very
troublesome and would attract outside attention.
For the forced labor camp, there are still certain procedures,
even though it is totally illegal.
But as for the brainwashing center, 610 Office
could directly abduct practitioners there, without a trace;
it is particularly convenient, no questions asked,
no oversight…..”
Jiang Tianyong said, Ere Lake legal “education center “
was set up by 610 Office in Ziyang, Sichuan Province.
Nearly every province or big cities in China has such a
menacing place. It is a big money spinner.
Jiang Tianyong: “If a practitioner inside gets brainwashed,
they will receive a pay-off from above.
If a practitioner is forced into the brainwashing center,
(610 office) may force his department to pay tens of
thousands of yuan. Or his community has to pay the money.
The community or department dare not offend 610 Office,
so they pay up.
Money is even extorted from abductee’s family members.
A practitioner sent there is a cash cow for them.”
Attorney Guo Haiyue from Daoheng Law Firm in Beijing,
explained to NTD television the situation that day.
They found the education center in Ere Lake area,
and started to take pictures.
Suddenly a black Buick car without a tag came along,
and People jumped off from the car to stop them from photographing.
Beijing lawyer Guo Haiyue:”During this period,
some people inside started to gather at the gate.
We ran away, and they kept on chasing us.
Someone threw stones at us. Jiang Tianyong’s leg was hit.”
Guo Haiyue said, when they were about to reach
the main road, the police came.
Then the plainclothes guards tried to snatch their cell phones.
Attorney Li Heping and another three lawyers learned the news
and went to support, but were arrested in a small restaurant.
Eleven attorneys were interrogated overnight,
and only released the next day.
Li Heping said, in a country under the rule of law,
it is forbidden to have this kind of illegal concentration camps.
They intend to organize more lawyers to take legal tours
in Ziyang, and go to investigate the illegal haunts of the Communist authorities.
On June 10, 1999, when Jiang Zemin was in power,
he set up a central leading group to process Falun Gong
issues, which was called the 610 Office.
A number of attorneys of Falun Gong practitioners
have gone through suppression,
stalking and persecution by the Chinese Communist regime,
including lawyers Gao Zhisheng, Jiang Tianyong, Zhu Yubiao,
Jin Guanghong, Wang Quanzhang, Wang Yongang, and so on.
It’s being called an unprecedented government intrusion. The Justice Department secretly collected two months of telephone records from the Associated Press and its reporters. Now the AP is demanding answers as to why the government was tracing their phone calls. RT Correspondent Liz Wahl has the Justice Department’s response and what effect this could have on the media.
Mobile operator EE has defended plans to sell its data, after a newspaper reported personal information was being offered to the Metropolitan Police.
Research company Ipsos Mori has an exclusive deal to sell on EE’s data, and has held talks with the force, according to the Sunday Times.
EE told the BBC the article was “misleading to say the least”.
The company said Ipsos Mori had access only to anonymised data grouped in samples of 50 people or more.
“We would never breach the trust our customers place in us and we always act to comply fully with the Data Protection Act,” a statement from EE said.
“The information is anonymised and aggregated, and cannot be used to identify the personal information of individual customers.”
The newspaper’s report said information about 27 million of EE’s customers was on offer – including their gender, age, postcode, the websites they visited, the time of day they sent texts and their location when making calls.
The Met Police confirmed to the BBC that they had held an “initial meeting” with Ipsos Mori to discuss how the data could be used to tackle crime, but added it “has made no offer to purchase data from Ipsos Mori nor has any intention of doing so”.
The force would not comment on whether it had made similar enquiries with other mobile operators.
In response to the story, Ipsos Mori – which is yet to fully finalise the terms of the deal with EE – told the BBC the data set was “not about individuals – it’s about behaviour”.
