PM and Tory whips reprimand Jesse Norman, MP who masterminded rebellion over Lords reform
David Cameron on Tuesday night personally challenged the leader of the Tory rebels who launched a highly effective operation against House of Lords reform, involving unofficial whips, which produced the largest rebellion against the government of this parliament.
Rebel sources said that an angry prime minister confronted Jesse Norman just outside the House of Commons division lobbies as it became clear that scores of Tory MPs would defy a three line whip.
Cameron behaved in a “disgraceful way”, marking the return of his “Flashman character”, one leading rebel said after the prime minister rebuked Norman as 91 Tories rebelled against the Lords reform bill.
One rebel source said of Cameron, who raised his voice in front of other Tories: “The behaviour of the prime minister was disgraceful. There were a number of colleagues around Jesse. The prime minister expressed his displeasure which really shocked colleagues. All Jesse has done is be a Conservative.”
Cameron’s anger shows that Downing Street was shocked by the size of the rebellion, which was far larger than the 81 Tory MPs who defied the prime minister last October over an EU referendum.
But No 10 was also concerned that normally loyal MPs, such as Norman and Nadhim Zahawi, had risked ministerial careers on an issue that is highly sensitive for the coalition.
Minutes after the prime minister challenged Norman, the Tory whips sought out the rebel leader to suggest he should leave the parliamentary estate for the night. As he relaxed with fellow rebels in the Strangers’ Bar shortly after the vote, four whips entered the bar to ask him for a private word. The whips – Stephen Crabb, Philip Dunne, Bill Wiggin and James Duddridge – were said to have confronted Norman in an even more aggressive manner than the prime minister.
President aims to bolster government communications in emergencies, but EPIC warns of private network takeovers
An Executive Order issued by the White House last Friday seeks to bolster the government’s ability to keep its emergency communications capabilities intact during national emergencies.
But one privacy advocacy group expressed concern that the order gives government unprecedented new authority to take over wired and wireless private communication networks in the pretext of national security.
The order issued by President Obama directs agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Department of Defense, Department of State and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence to come up with policy recommendations and plans for ensuring continuity of government communications capabilities in a crisis.
The order authorizes the creation of a new National Security and Emergency Preparedness Communications Committee (NS/EP), which will consist of representatives from each of these agencies.
As part of its mission the executive committee will develop a long-term strategic plan and propose funding initiatives to support the incorporation of the necessary redundancy, mobility, interoperability and restorability of government communications capabilities “under all circumstances.”

In January 2012 a [then] quiet deal was struck between SOE Software (then the leading US vote tabulation company. Scytl is said to be strongly linked to George Soros. The Obama syndicate members arranged the deal and Obama’s now wholly-owned rubber-stamp Congress agreed to it. That’s right. A foreign company may now, ostensibly and unconstitutionally, determine who wins US “elections.” Of extreme interest, Scytl’s CEO, Pere Valles, was the former VP and CFO of GlobalNet whose headquarters were based in Obama’s then base of operations Chicago. Although apparently scrubbed from Obama’s donor list (as so many negative and potentially negative-to-Obama documents and videos have been), Valles is said to have contributed heavily to Obama’s first presidential run.
Although US States and their precincts are the ones who Constitutionally have counted votes since the US began as a nation, the indication seems to be that all States may now be told by the Obama government that all votes–nationwide–will be tabulated by the foreign company. Also, as all votes are “merged” under the Scytl system, no recounts will be available. Note: As an added “feature,” Scytl also has a specific program for military votes. I guess we can now assume military votes will be summarily dismissed if a Marxist-Democrat is in power.

An Austrian law enforcement official says a former Libyan prime minister found dead in the Danube river suffered a heart attack before drowning.
Thomas Vecsey of the state prosecutor’s office says investigations are continuing into Shukri Ghanem’s death, but police are sure it was accidental.
Ghanem’s body was found floating in the Danube April 29, just a few hundred meters (yards) from his Vienna home.
Police initially said he had drowned, but Vecsey’s comments Tuesday were the first mention of a heart attack. Vecsey cited the result of a medical report into the death as his source.
Ghanem was considered a member of deposed Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi’s inner circle until his defection last year, and his death had sparked speculation of foul play.
