USA – Men will be required to sit and pee like a woman on all domestic flights in the US as early as late 2012. 
The TSA is expected to release new toilet safety requirements for domestic travel within the US. This is following a rash of airborne urination events oninternational flights last year. Passengers will be required to have full body contact with in flight waste receptacles prior to elimination of bowel or bladder contents. This means men will need to sit and peelike a woman.
The events leading to this decision are centered around male urination behaviors and disorders.
• While quietly dismissed in the media at the time, 18-year-old US Olympic skier Robert “Sandy” Vietze was detained by police after peeing on a 12-year-old girl on an international flight. The golden event took place on August 17, 2011.
• Gerard Depardieu, international film actor, experienced similar issues in August 2011 due to prostate problems. The star appeared to be drunk and had urinated in the aisle during takeoff. Drunkenness is a symptom of prostate issues. Take off is a time during a flight when all passengers must remain seated.
• Michael Aitken, the son of a famous New Zealand volleyball coach, urinated in the aisle of a NZ Jetstar plane mid-flight, spraying a passenger’s leg and a woman’s scarf in July 2011. According to reports, the woman had to ask several times for a zip lock bag for her pee soaked scarf.
Avoiding these types of mishaps requires passengers to have full contact with an on-board toilet. Safety features to assure compliance will be added to planes beginning in 2013. The lavatory door will not lock and engage until sufficient weight is placed on the seat.
