The answers are out there – and Wanganui Paranormal Investigations wants to find them.
The small group of enthusiasts, founded by John Sturmey and Cath Downey, formed around three months and are intent on uncovering paranormal activity in and around Wanganui.
“We just want to find the answers,” Ms Downey said.
Mr Sturmey said the group formed after he heard a lot of people asking questions about paranormal activity in Wanganui. “But no one was doing anything about it, so we decided we would.”
The group is saving to buy specialist paranormal tracking equipment such as infra-red cameras, but until then they are having to make do with standard cameras and recorders. Despite that, Mr Sturmey said it was remarkable to see what group members were capturing in Wanganui.
“There’s a lot of paranormal ‘hotspots’ in Wanganui – for example, the cenotaph. A lot of people have seen unexplained figures walking around there.”
